How it works

For £10 per month you get a domain name, web hosting and email boxes for your website.

When you need to use our services, you pay for our time. Don't worry though as this really isn't expensive. based on unbilled work as of 14th August 2012, the average amount of time it takes us to complete a request is less than 4 minutes and the average cost is £3.71!

You can use this time for anything from the following list:

• Website updates
• Configuration of email boxes
• Configuration of website extensions (statistics packages, site-map submissions, etc)
• Ask questions about anything relating to your website
• Ask for advice (search engine optimisation, online advertising, etc)
  
• Ask us to proof-read your content, or create content
• Get us to find you stock images

All of the above tasks are normally completed within a few minutes.

We can also help you with logo design and web design, but these tasks normally take much longer, especially as the work is normally iterative (for example, we send you a design and you may ask for tweaks and changes, which then takes more time).

There are loads of things we don't deal with, like fixing your computer or sorting out your broadband connection - but we are experts when it comes to your website!

How we bill you

Although we have an hourly rate, it is very rare for a task to take more than a few minutes. Because of this, we record all our work by the minute so you don't pay for more time than you use. You won't find us rounding up to the nearest hour!

We only ever add work to your billing account when you ask us to do something. On any day that we add work to your account, you will be sent an email telling you about the task we worked on. When there is enough unbilled work on your account, we will bundle it up and send you an invoice for you to pay.

Why not offer a fixed price?

We could offer a fixed price. The problem with this is that fixed price work usually costs more. Anyone offering you a fixed price will have to guess how long a task may take and then add on a bit of safety in case it takes longer. If their guess is right, they win extra money they didn't earn. If it takes longer than they thought, you win some free work - but next time the price will be higher.

Our business model is based on an open and honest system that is fair to you and to us. If it takes us 1 minute to answer your question, you pay for 1 minute. No guesses, no gambling. Simple!

Case Study

Let's look at an example.

You have an existing website and you want to switch to our managed service. You are keeping your existing logo and design but want to change some of the content.

So for £10 per month and a set up fee of £74 you are up and running. When you come to updating a page, it will cost just a few pounds.
